Kaizer Chiefs will face Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 this Saturday evening at FNB Stadium. While Chiefs are the favorites to win, Chippa United’s coach, Thabo September, believes his team could upset the odds if they capitalize on their chances.

Kaizer Chiefs have not won a trophy in 10 years, and the Nedbank Cup presents their final opportunity to claim silverware this season, with the league title out of reach due to competition from Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

“It’s a cup match, and anything can happen in a one-off game. We need to approach it with the right mindset, give our best for the full 90 minutes, and make the most of the chances we get,” September said ahead of the game.

“We also need to be strong defensively, making sure we don’t give away goals. Playing against a top team like Chiefs is a great opportunity for our players to show their talent,” he added.

Chippa United will be without Sirgio Kammies for this match, but September is confident in his squad’s depth.

“The rest of the team looks strong, and we have plenty of good options to choose from. We just need to go out there, express ourselves, and play to our strengths,” he explained.

The match will kick off at 18:00, and the winner will progress to the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup.
