Kaizer Chiefs are gearing up for a squad overhaul ahead of the new season, but it’s unlikely they’ll replicate last year’s ambitious spree that saw ten new arrivals.
With Nasreddine Nabi now firmly in the driver’s seat, the club has opened the checkbook to bring in high-caliber players—Makabi Lilepo being the most recent name to make an impact. But despite the investment, Chiefs are still falling short on the pitch, hovering outside of the MTN8 qualification zone in ninth place, with just eight wins and a worrying eleven losses so far.
Big changes incoming
Reports suggest a number of players will be shown the door to create space for new recruits. One of the notable names on the chopping block is forward Ranga Chivaviro.
A source close to the club revealed, “Coach Nabi has already finalised a list of players he wants released once the season wraps up. That list was submitted alongside his transfer targets for the upcoming window.”
