Orlando Pirates are planning to make significant changes to their squad at the end of the season, including offloading some players and bringing in replacements.
The club has set its sights on several high-profile targets, including top Bafana Bafana players and even some players who have been on Kaizer Chiefs’ radar.
Pirates Planning to Loan Out Goalkeeper
Young goalkeeper Siyabonga Dladla is set to be loaned out by Pirates as they look to help him gain more playing time. With stiff competition for the goalkeeper position at the club, including Sipho Chaine as the first choice and Melusi Buthelezi as the backup, the club wants to give Dladla the chance to play regularly and develop his skills.
According to sources, several clubs are already interested in taking Dladla on loan, including one in the PSL and two in the First Division. However, official moves are expected to take place at the start of next season.
Departures from the Buccaneers
Several Orlando Pirates players are reportedly on their way out of the club in the upcoming transfer window. Four stars are likely to leave Mayfair, with Patrick Maswanganyi strongly linked to a move to Europe. In total, six players are being linked with departures from Pirates.
Pirates Eyeing Bafana Bafana Talent
Ahead of the next transfer window, Pirates are targeting key players, particularly from Bafana Bafana, to strengthen their squad. This comes after a quiet previous transfer window where no new players were signed, despite heavy speculation and interest in various stars.
