A top European club is reportedly interested in signing South African international Relebohile Mofokeng from Orlando Pirates, with the player’s future at the club potentially in jeopardy ahead of the summer transfer window. According to reports, Barcelona, a European powerhouse, has shown interest in signing Mofokeng during the next transfer window. Sources close to the situation revealed that Barcelona’s B team coaches have been monitoring Mofokeng’s progress this season, with inquiries being made about the young star’s development. A source told Soccer Laduma, “There have been enquiries from Barcelona on Relebohile Mofokeng. The boy has been monitored by the Barcelona B team managers with interest. They have been following him and made approaches with some of their contacts in the PSL, including certain coaches they know closely, asking about the player.”
In addition to Barcelona, African giants Al Ahly are also said to be keen on signing the talented midfielder. However, the Egyptian club has yet to officially approach Orlando Pirates regarding their interest in Mofokeng.
