AmaZulu head coach Arthur Zwane believes Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi deserves more time to prove himself.
Following a 2-2 draw with Chiefs, Zwane, who previously worked as Amakhosi’s development coach before becoming head coach in 2022, praised the club’s young players. After leaving Chiefs, the 51-year-old joined AmaZulu.
Zwane, reflecting on Nabi’s situation, said: “It’s just a matter of time before these players start to shine and perform well. From the start of this season, they’ve been carrying the team. It’s always tough for a player to come into this setup and excel right away due to the pressure.”
He continued, “Now you can see why these young players are leading the charge, and we must also give credit to the coach for backing them and instilling confidence in them, as it’s a major investment for the club.”
Zwane, who understands the challenges of coaching a high-pressure team like Chiefs, added, “The market has always been tough for Kaizer Chiefs. I feel for coach Nabi because I’ve been in that position before. Chiefs may be a work in progress, but they will be a formidable team soon. Nabi needs time, and the team will come together—it’s only a matter of time.”
