AmaZulu FC have made a clear call on the future of Arthur Zwane, and it’s good news for the former Kaizer Chiefs mentor.

Zwane, who arrived at Usuthu earlier this season to co-lead the side with Vusumuzi Vilakazi after Franco Pablo Martin’s exit, has been holding the fort solo since Vilakazi stepped down in February 2025.

Since taking over the technical reins, Zwane has kept AmaZulu competitive. The Durban-based club currently sits sixth on the DStv Premiership table, firmly in the race for a Top 8 finish—something that seemed far off earlier in the season.

Now, club president Sandile Zungu has confirmed that Zwane will continue as head coach beyond the current campaign. The decision, Zungu says, comes after Zwane brought “character” to the team and has managed to stabilize performances.

In 18 league matches so far, Zwane has led the team to seven wins, four draws, and seven losses—a balanced record that has earned him a longer stay at the helm.

Speaking to FARPost, Zungu said:
“Arthur Zwane will remain part of AmaZulu beyond this season. That’s a decision we’ve made and shared with him, the players, and the entire technical staff. We appreciate the identity and character he’s instilled in the team, and he deserves our full backing.”

Zwane, affectionately known as “Mangethe,” now has the chance to build something longer-term at AmaZulu as the club continues to rebuild under his leadership.
