Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reignited his long-standing rivalry with Jose Mourinho, now coaching Turkish side Fenerbahce, with a cheeky remark referencing their competitive history. The two iconic tacticians famously clashed during their time managing Spain’s biggest clubs, Barcelona and Real Madrid, delivering memorable moments for football fans.

Guardiola, whose Manchester City side is enduring a tough spell, addressed his recent gesture toward Liverpool fans during a press conference. The Premier League champions are in a slump, having lost four consecutive league matches, with their last victory coming on October 26.

When asked about Mourinho’s famous three-finger gesture during his tenure at Manchester United, Guardiola cheekily responded:
“I hope it’s not the beginning of the end for me. Maybe we are similar, like Jose, but he won three, and I won six! We share these moments.”

Guardiola went on to defend his actions and his club, saying, “I wasn’t ‘cool’—I was only cool because we were winning. When you stop winning, it’s completely different. My gesture was to remind our fans of the incredible success we’ve achieved. I’ll do everything I can to keep this going for as long as possible.”

Despite their current struggles, Guardiola remains confident in Manchester City’s ability to recover and continue building their legacy.
