Kaizer Chiefs are growing increasingly frustrated with Pyramids FC as talks to sign Congolese striker Fiston Mayele hit a deadlock.

The main hurdle? Mayele’s price keeps climbing. According to insiders, every time Chiefs try to push forward with the deal, Pyramids hike up his valuation because several clubs are chasing him. Adding to the complication, Pyramids are reportedly planning to extend Mayele’s contract, making it even tougher for Chiefs to secure his transfer.

Given these challenges, Chiefs have decided to pause their pursuit of Mayele—for now.

Rushwin Dortley’s Road to Recovery

In March 2025, Kaizer Chiefs’ promising talent Rushwin Dortley underwent knee surgery to fix a more serious injury than initially expected. While the exact timeline for his comeback remains unclear, it’s unlikely he’ll return to competitive action before September.

Despite this setback, Dortley’s spirits are high, and such challenges early in a career often build stronger mental resilience. Chiefs are prioritizing his full recovery, aiming to have a fit and motivated Dortley ready to make an impact in the 2025-2026 season.
