Mamelodi Sundowns have made it clear they’re not in the market for a new goalkeeper just yetβ€”Jody February is staying for another season.

Despite spending much of the campaign out of the matchday squad, the 28-year-old shot-stopper has earned a one-year contract extension from the DStv Premiership champions.

His agent, Mike Makaab, confirmed the news: β€œJody February will remain with Mamelodi Sundowns beyond this season. He’s signed a one-year extension with the club.”

February has seen limited minutes this season, but his camp sees this as a chance to rebuild and push harder for a starting role. β€œIt’s an opportunity for Jody to fight for his place. He got a few chances this season, and that’s something to build on,” Makaab told FARPost.

He added: β€œWe also appreciate Sundowns for continuing to back him. Jody is a talented player, and this faith gives him a real chance to prove himself.”

With this move, it looks like Sundowns are happy with their current goalkeeping departmentβ€”at least for now.
