Relebohile Mofokeng has been nothing short of sensational for Orlando Pirates this season, racking up 12 goals and 14 assists in all competitions. At just 20 years old, he’s already turning heads and attracting interest from European clubs.

But according to former Pirates assistant coach Fadlu Davids, while Mofokeng has the talent, there’s still room for growth—particularly when it comes to his physicality. Speaking on Mike Morton Talks Football, Davids highlighted that Rele has the technical ability and football intelligence to go far, but he needs to become stronger to compete at the next level, especially in tougher leagues abroad.

“You could see it in the game against Kaizer Chiefs,” Davids said, referring to a moment when Mofokeng was easily muscled off the ball while appealing for a penalty.

Still, Davids couldn’t praise him enough, calling him a standout player with the potential to be a future leader for Bafana Bafana and a key figure in solving South Africa’s goal-scoring struggles.

Mofokeng has now completed his third season with the Buccaneers, and many fans believe it’s time he gets a shot at showcasing his talent in Europe. While Pirates are set to finish the season in second place behind Mamelodi Sundowns, Mofokeng’s rise has been one of the team’s biggest positives this campaign.
