Orlando Pirates midfielder Makhehlene Makhaula will not feature again in the 2024-2025 Betway Premiership season due to a serious injury.

Injury Blow in Pirates’ Win Over Golden Arrows

In their recent 3-0 victory over Golden Arrows, Pirates’ injury woes deepened as Makhaula became the latest casualty. The midfielder was forced off in the second half, visibly in discomfort, and needed assistance to leave the field. By the end of the match, he was seen wearing a moon boot, indicating that the injury is likely more severe than initially thought, and could sideline him for several weeks.

The club’s ongoing battle with injuries continues as they lose another key player in a season already plagued with fitness setbacks.

Simphiwe Selepe and Cemran Dansin Make Their Mark

On a positive note, Simphiwe Selepe made his full Betway Premiership debut for Orlando Pirates, donning the number 47 jersey. Selepe, who previously appeared as a substitute in the Kaizer Chiefs encounter earlier this month, is showing promise for the future.

Also, Cemran Dansin, just 17 years old, was included in the matchday squad for the win against Golden Arrows. The match saw goals from Tshegofatso Mabasa, Bandsile Shandu, and Kabelo Dlamini, securing another solid win for the Buccaneers.
