As of May 14, it looks increasingly likely that Kaizer Chiefs will part ways with midfielder George Matlou, whose future at the club remains up in the air.
Will Chiefs Keep George Matlou?
It’s been a tough season for the 26-year-old Soweto-born midfielder, with injuries limiting his impact. With Matlou’s contract set to expire in June and no new offer from Chiefs yet, the clock is ticking on his future at the club.
“I would love to stay at Kaizer Chiefs, of course. It’s been a great experience, and I’d be grateful if I were to stay,” Matlou shared with FARPost. “Being part of this club has been wonderful, and I’m eager to achieve great things with the team. But for now, my focus is on the remaining matches.”
Matlou also emphasized the importance of finishing the season strong. “We want to collect maximum points in these last few games and, of course, win the Nedbank Cup,” he added, showing his commitment to the team as the season wraps up.
