Kaizer Chiefs board member Jessica Motaung has expressed deep gratitude to the club’s loyal supporters and chairman, Dr. Kaizer Motaung Senior, after their historic victory over Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final. The win broke a 10-year trophy drought for the Soweto-based team, marking a long-awaited achievement under Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi.

In her emotional post-match speech, Motaung dedicated the hard-fought victory to the supporters who have stood by the club through thick and thin. She acknowledged the critical role the fans played, filling stadiums and setting new merchandise records, even during the lean years.

“The way you fill stadiums, the passion, the love, the merchandise—it shows how much this club means to you,” Motaung said, deeply moved by the supporters’ unwavering dedication.

Reflecting on a decade of transformation at the club, Motaung spoke of the progress made by both the DStv Diski Challenge squad and the senior team, highlighting the growth and resilience that led to the trophy.

“This has been a full decade of transformation, and we’re so proud of how far we’ve come. The senior team is thriving, and everything just feels aligned right now,” Motaung added.

In her tribute, Motaung also took a moment to honor her father, Dr. Kaizer Motaung Sr., the club’s chairman, saying, “To our chairman, this one’s for you. Love you, Dad!” Her words encapsulated the significance of the moment, with the victory marking a milestone for the entire Kaizer Chiefs family.
