Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly preparing to make significant changes to their squad, with two foreign players likely to leave the club as the season winds down.

The Brazilians are on track to clinch another league title, and their sights are firmly set on the CAF Champions League trophy. However, despite their impressive campaign, a few departures are expected at Chloorkop ahead of the next season.

According to recent transfer rumors, Sundowns are considering offloading two South American players.

Lucas Suarez’s Loan Deal to End

Argentine defender Lucas Suarez, who joined Sundowns on loan from CA Talleres, is unlikely to stay beyond this season. Although the club has an option to purchase Suarez permanently, sources close to the team suggest they are not planning to exercise that option. This move will open up a foreign player spot in their squad for the upcoming transfer window.

Matias Esquivel Set to Depart

Another player reportedly on his way out is Argentine midfielder Matias Esquivel. Esquivel, who signed a four-year contract with Sundowns in 2023, is expected to part ways with the club next month, bringing an end to his short stint in South Africa.

As Sundowns prepare for their next match against Chippa United in the Betway Premiership, a win or even a draw will secure the league title for the reigning champions.
