Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira, renowned South African rugby legend, has embraced a life of elegance and sustainability in his stunning triple-storey mansion on KwaZulu-Natal’s Dolphin Coast. This contemporary residence is not just a home, but a showcase of architectural brilliance, designed with both style and environmental consciousness in mind.

The mansion, designed by architect Tracy Levinson, features expansive glass walls that let in natural light and offer breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. The high-beamed ceilings with black rafters add a touch of sophistication to the open-plan layout, which seamlessly connects the living spaces. A standout feature of the home is the elevated lap pool, positioned above the bedrooms, providing stunning, uninterrupted ocean views.

Sustainability is at the forefront of this luxurious property, with solar panels and battery systems in place to ensure energy efficiency, reduce electricity bills, and minimize environmental impact.

Inside, the interior décor reflects the personal style of Tendai and his wife, Kuziva. The neutral grey tones and designer furnishings create a calm, refined atmosphere. The kitchen, a family hub, features a striking graphite island with unique yellow ring lights hanging above. For their children, the Mtawaris have created a playroom filled with educational elements and a world map to inspire creativity and learning.

Financial expert Fulufhelani Mashapha shared tips on how to stay on budget, especially when tempted by luxury expenses like landscaping and home décor, ensuring that indulgences don’t break the bank.
