As he prepares to leave Orlando Pirates in June, head coach Jose Riveiro is optimistic about the club’s future and the person who will succeed him.
Speaking to the media this week, Riveiro made it clear that the Sea Robbers’ success is not tied to any single individual but to a long-term vision that will continue after his departure.
Riveiro Reflects on Pirates’ Legacy and the Transition Ahead
“This club is built around a project, not just my work,” Riveiro stated in a press conference in Durban. “I’ve said this many times before. The club knows what it’s doing, and the new coach will have the right support and a strong foundation to carry on from where we leave off.”
Riveiro, who has overseen the team’s progress this season, believes that the future of Orlando Pirates remains bright, regardless of his exit.
“Football is cyclical. Orlando Pirates is a massive institution, and nothing will change because of one person’s departure,” he continued. “The club is in good hands, and the future is promising.”
