Many Kaizer Chiefs supporters are already looking ahead to next season—and it turns out, so is defender Inacio Miguel. As the club prepares for a high-stakes Nedbank Cup clash against Orlando Pirates this Saturday, Miguel admits that this has been a season to forget for both him and the team.
Chiefs Defender Doesn’t Sugarcoat the Struggles
In a candid media interview ahead of the derby, Miguel didn’t hold back about his feelings on the 2024/25 campaign.
“Let’s be real—it’s been a tough season, not just for the team but for me personally,” said the Angolan international. “I had big goals this season, but I didn’t meet them.”
While there’s still a chance to end the season on a high with a Nedbank Cup victory, Miguel doesn’t believe one win can erase the overall disappointment.
“Winning the cup would be great and it would make us happy, yes. But that doesn’t erase all the poor results we’ve had. I want people to understand—this hasn’t been a good season for Kaizer Chiefs.”
Eyes on the Future Despite the Setbacks
Despite the tough reality, Miguel remains optimistic. He views this chapter as part of a longer journey and believes the focus now should be on building toward better days.
“This is part of the process. We won’t dwell on the negatives, but rather concentrate on what we can improve going forward,” he added.
Derby Day Set for Durban
