Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma has addressed the recent comments made by his former teammate, Itumeleng Khune, after Khune criticized him for not taking advice from the veteran goalkeeper.

In an interview last week, Khune expressed his disappointment in Bvuma, saying that he failed to heed the advice Khune had given him, unlike Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams. Khune explained that he had mentored Williams, emphasizing the competitive nature of their roles within the national team.

In response, Bvuma showed respect towards Khune, acknowledging his immense contribution to both Kaizer Chiefs and South African football.

“Itu is a club legend, and what he has achieved for the team is something no one of our generation may match,” Bvuma said. “What he did for the country is significant, and I respect him deeply.”

However, Bvuma remained focused on his role and the team’s success, stating, “My focus is on the team, on playing well for the team, and ensuring I perform to my full potential.”

Despite the criticism, Bvuma emphasized that his relationship with Khune is cordial, and he remains committed to giving his best for Kaizer Chiefs.
