Since Nasreddine Nabi took over at Kaizer Chiefs in July, there’s been a noticeable boost in the performance of several players, but only three have truly stepped up their game.

Ranga Chivaviro, Gaston Sirino, and Bruce Bvuma were all struggling before Nabi’s arrival. Chivaviro and Bvuma were rarely used, while Sirino found himself sidelined at Sundowns before joining Chiefs this season.

Here are three players who have dramatically improved under Nabi’s guidance:

Wandile Duba
At just 20 years old, Duba is having a breakthrough season under Nabi. With six goals across all competitions, he’s now the club’s top scorer this campaign. The young forward has showcased impressive form since his debut, and his development under Nabi has been key to his success this season.

Mduduzi Shabalala
Despite a promising start, Mdu has had a somewhat inconsistent season. However, his four goals so far demonstrate his potential. At 21, Shabalala’s growth has been evident under Nabi’s coaching, even though he’s had to contend with a few benchings along the way. His progression this season is a sign of the trust Nabi has in his abilities.

Sibongiseni Mthethwa
The former Stellenbosch midfielder, affectionately known as ‘Ox,’ has proven his worth after being given more opportunities in the second half of the season. With injuries affecting some of the midfielders, Mthethwa stepped up and has made 13 appearances in the Betway Premiership this season, showing that he’s ready to make an impact when called upon.
