Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have officially booked their spots in the highly anticipated Nedbank Cup final, setting the stage for an electrifying Soweto Derby.

Chiefs pulled off a thrilling late victory over Mamelodi Sundowns, with Ashley Du Preez netting the winner just before the end of regular time. Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates edged past Marumo Gallants in Soweto thanks to Kabelo Dlamini’s first-half strike in the 22nd minute.

The final promises to be a spectacle, especially for Amakhosi fans, who haven’t seen their team in a major final for six years. With bragging rights and silverware on the line, anticipation is at an all-time high.

Is Pitso Mosimane the Next Buccaneers Boss?

While the Buccaneers continue their quest for a historic quadruple, questions remain over who will lead the club next season. Current coach Jose Riveiro is set to depart, and sources suggest that the Pirates hierarchy has identified Pitso Mosimane as their top target.

β€œThere are several names on the shortlist, but Pitso is believed to be the number one choice,” a source revealed. β€œEven though no official talks have been confirmed, internally he’s seen as the ideal candidate.”

The club reportedly sees Mosimane as the perfect fit, given his experience and winning mentality. β€œIf Pirates could give Riveiro three years, then why not go for someone of Pitso’s caliber?” the insider added.

However, the Soweto giants are keeping their options open, with several coaches being evaluated based on various factors.
