Kaizer Chiefs are ready to shake up their squad after a few quiet transfer windows — and it looks like they’re turning their attention straight to Chloorkop.
Amakhosi Targeting Sundowns Stars Worth Over R50 Million
Reports suggest that Kaizer Chiefs are eyeing a triple swoop for Mamelodi Sundowns’ Bafana Bafana talents — with Neo Maema, Terrence Mashego, and Thapelo Maseko all on their radar.
According to insiders, Chiefs have been keeping close tabs on Neo Maema for a while now. The creative midfielder could be available at the end of the season as Sundowns are believed to be trimming their squad. Chiefs are preparing to capitalize on that opportunity.
“Chiefs have been monitoring Maema, and they’re expected to make a move if Sundowns decide not to keep him,” a source revealed to SNL.
Terrence Mashego Also Under Watch
The Soweto giants are also monitoring left-back Terrence Mashego, whose contract with Sundowns runs out in June. If the Brazilians decide not to renew, Chiefs may step in with an offer to strengthen their defensive options.
Speedy Winger Thapelo Maseko a Key Target
Meanwhile, Amakhosi are seriously considering a move for Thapelo Maseko — another Sundowns player who hasn’t seen much game time this season. Chiefs’ scouting team is reportedly very familiar with the winger and believe he fits perfectly into their attacking plans.
“The scouts know Maseko’s strengths and believe he can add real value to the squad. It’s early days, but the interest is strong,” a source told SNL.
With Nasreddine Nabi keen to reshape the squad and compete toe-to-toe with Sundowns and Pirates next season, Chiefs could be making a huge statement if these deals come through.
