Kaizer Chiefs will be aiming to bounce back to winning ways after suffering their eighth defeat of the season over the weekend. The Glamour Boys narrowly lost 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday afternoon, with Lucas Ribeiro’s brilliant goal proving to be the difference at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.

This loss marks the first time this year that head coach Nasreddine Nabi has faced back-to-back league defeats, and he will be eager to turn things around when Chiefs host Magesi on Tuesday evening at FNB Stadium.

The team will be boosted by the return of 33-year-old Uruguayan attacker Gaston Sirino, who missed the Sundowns clash. However, Nabi will have to do without key midfielder Thabo Cele, who is suspended after receiving his fourth yellow card of the season.

In defense, Chiefs have found some stability, with Reeve Frosler regaining his place in the team and Edmilson Dove impressing at left-back. Ashley du Preez, who replaced the injured Tashreeq Morris against Sundowns, is expected to start against Magesi.

The two teams drew 2-2 in their first-round encounter, and with Magesi having pulled off a win against SuperSport United in their last match, they will be a tough opponent. However, a determined Kaizer Chiefs side, fueled by their desire to recover from consecutive losses and with players like Makabi Lilepo in strong form, could edge out Magesi in this upcoming encounter.

The match kicks off at 19:30 on Tuesday, March 4, at FNB Stadium.
