Orlando Pirates will be eager to avoid the mistakes of their summer transfer window, where they failed to sign a single player despite having one of their best chances for a title in years.
Currently sitting second on the log, the Buccaneers are linked with several African stars, including Bafana winger Oswin Appollis.

Jaedin Rhodes
Cape Town City’s promising young talent, Jaedin Rhodes, has been a long-time target for Orlando Pirates, who reportedly tried to sign the 21-year-old in January.
The former PSL Young Player of the Year is regarded as one of South Africa’s brightest prospects, with over seventy top-flight appearances and immense untapped potential.
SoccerLaduma confirmed Pirates’ interest, stating, “He [Rhodes] has been one of their [Pirates] targets for some time now.”
“They were looking to sign him during the January transfer window, but since that didn’t happen, they now have more time to work on it. The club remains interested in him, and we will see what happens in the next window.”
A second source added, “Pirates are likely to loan out or release some players as they work on strengthening their squad. Since they missed out on Rhodes in January, they will focus on him during the offseason.”
Yanele Mbhuthuma
Another player reportedly on Orlando Pirates’ radar is Richards Bay’s striker Yanele Mbhuthuma.
“Yes, the club [Pirates] is planning to bring in another striker, and they have already identified several options, including Yanele Mbhuthuma from Richards Bay. This is why they’re considering loaning out or releasing Radiopane,” a source explained.

With players like Patrick Maswanganyi, Relebohile Mofokeng, and Monnapule Saleng being linked with potential moves away from the club, Orlando Pirates will be on the hunt for top-tier replacements, including the talented Oswin Appollis.
