Kaizer Chiefs are facing multiple challenges, ranging from injuries to growing international interest in their head coach.

Good News: Lilepo and Matlou Set to Return

On the bright side, Makabi Lilepo and George Matlou are expected to make their return for the team’s upcoming Cup match against Chippa United this Saturday. According to a source from Siya, Lilepo’s injury wasn’t serious. It was a precautionary decision to rest him due to a thigh knock, but he’s already feeling better and joined the recovery training with the team. He’s expected to be fully fit for the game against Chippa.

As for Matlou, his absence from recent matches was due to an injury sustained during the Soweto Derby. However, he’s been progressing well with medical support, and it looks likely that he will be ready to feature in Saturday’s match, depending on the team selection.

Tunisia Interested in Nabi

In other news, reports suggest that Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach Nasreddine Nabi is on Tunisia’s radar for their national team managerial role. Nabi has been with Chiefs for just over six months, but he’s already drawing attention from the Tunisian Football Federation. Alongside other candidates like Sami Trabelsi and Maher Kanzari, Nabi is reportedly being considered for the position with a monthly salary offer of around $9,000 (R166,000).

Kaizer Chiefs now face the task of managing both their injury concerns and the possibility of losing their coach to an international role.
