Kaizer Chiefs Considering Role for Itumeleng Khune
Though the 37-year-old Itumeleng Khune has not officially retired, reports suggest that Kaizer Chiefs is looking at a possible position for him in the marketing department. A source revealed that the club values Khune’s influence and still sees him contributing off the field. Despite his other commitments, they’re in talks about a role that aligns with both his schedule and the club’s needs.
“The club feels Itu still has much to offer beyond his playing career,” the source told Soccer Laduma. “They’re exploring a way to create a partnership that works for both sides, and that’s why talks have continued.” An additional source mentioned that the club also wants Khune to pursue his coaching badges and mentor young goalkeepers, passing on the vast knowledge he’s gained from his successful career. Whether in marketing or coaching, Kaizer Chiefs is eager to have him back.
