Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung remains optimistic about the club’s chances of winning the Betway Premiership.
Following a solid 1-0 victory over Stellenbosch this past Friday, Chiefs climbed to fourth in the league standings. New signing Makabi Lilepo’s goal secured the three points, marking their seventh win of the season under coach Nasreddine Nabi.
In a post-match interview, Motaung shared his confidence about the team’s progress.
“It’s a journey, we know it takes time, but we’re heading in the right direction. It’s a process that requires patience and time,” Motaung said on SuperSportTV.
He further emphasized that building a successful team takes time, stating that it’s too early to draw conclusions.
“The league is far from over, and we’ll see how things unfold throughout the season. We brought in quality players for a reason. We wanted to add experience to help the younger players, because the jersey is heavy,” Motaung explained.
He also expressed the club’s dedication to its fans, saying, “We do this for the people who fill the stadium and enjoy the game. We play for them.”
Since the start of the season, Chiefs have made ten new signings, with Lilepo, Thabo Cele, and Tashreeq Morris joining the squad during the January transfer window. Though Motaung kept details under wraps at the time, he hinted at more positive developments to come.
