Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of Mduduzi Mdantsane, sending him out on loan to Richards Bay for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
MDUDUZI MDANTSANE LOANED OUT TO RICHARDS BAY The 30-year-old attacking midfielder missed pre-season training due to a jaw injury, leading to his loan move to the KwaZulu-Natal side. Mdantsane joins Sabelo Radebe, another Chiefs midfielder already on loan at Richards Bay. The club confirmed the deal, stating, “Kaizer Chiefs have agreed to loan Mduduzi Mdantsane to Richards Bay for the rest of the season. He will return to Amakhosi at the end of the season.”
The club wished Mdantsane well, adding, “We look forward to his return and the impact he’ll make with the team next season.”
GLODY LILEPO IMPRESSES AT KAIZER CHIEFS Kaizer Chiefs fans are already taking a liking to their new Congolese signing, Glody Lilepo. The 27-year-old winger has made a strong impression, including a standout performance in the 2-2 draw against AmaZulu, followed by a goal in the 1-0 win over Stellenbosch FC. Reflecting on his start at Amakhosi, Lilepo shared, “I’ve been settling in well. Before joining, I spent a few weeks watching Chiefs’ matches and familiarizing myself with the players. By the time I joined, I already had a good understanding of the team.”
ZAMALEK EYEING EDSON CASTILLO’S MOVE With the summer window approaching, Kaizer Chiefs face decisions on several expiring contracts, including Edson Castillo. According to reports, Zamalek is reportedly interested in the 30-year-old midfielder, whose deal expires in June. Chiefs had rejected an offer from the Egyptian club last season, but with Castillo’s contract nearing its end, it seems Chiefs may not extend his stay.
An insider stated, “There have been multiple inquiries, with Zamalek showing a serious interest. Castillo’s future now lies in his hands. If he decides not to renew with Chiefs, talks with Zamalek could soon take place.” The player’s current position at Chiefs is uncertain, especially given the recent arrival of Thabo Cele and Castillo’s injury.
