Orlando Pirates are reportedly targeting a new, fast winger with great skill and flair for the upcoming transfer window. According to Soccer Laduma, the Buccaneers have emerged as the front-runners to sign Tshepang Moremi, following an impressive season from the 24-year-old, who has already scored two goals and provided two assists in 18 games.
An insider shared with the publication, βAs things stand now, Pirates are ahead of Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs in the race for Moremi. Theyβve expressed interest, and things could progress once the season ends. However, itβs still early to say much at this stage.β
Another source added, βIt will depend on the negotiations, which might involve money and player exchanges. The value of Moremi and what AmaZulu expect from Pirates could ultimately shape the deal.β
Former Orlando Pirates legend Oupa Manyisa has heaped praise on one of the clubβs rising stars, Thalente Mbatha. Ahead of the Soweto Derby, Manyisa highlighted the talents of Relebohile Mofokeng and Mohau Nkota but singled out Mbatha as his personal favorite.
“He’s more underrated, but as football fans, we see things differently,” Manyisa said to iDiski Times. “For me, itβs simple, because I used to play in that position. I can see how he plays and carries himself on the field. He reminds me of myself β making the game look easy. You wonβt see him running all over the place, but heβs always available when the team needs him, both in attack and defense.β
Mbatha’s confidence will surely be boosted after hearing such high praise from a legend like Manyisa.
