Former President Jacob Zuma has reportedly intervened in a family dispute involving his daughter, Dudu Zuma-Sambudla, and political figure Floyd Shivambu. Following a series of controversial posts on the social media platform X, where Zuma-Sambudla made derogatory comments about Shivambu and criticized his inclusion in the uMkhonto Wesizwe (MK) party, Zuma has directed his daughter to publicly apologize. The posts have not only stirred public reaction but also fueled speculation about the tensions between the two figures.

The situation escalated when Zuma-Sambudla’s remarks were officially deemed a violation of the MK party’s disciplinary code. In a statement issued early Tuesday morning, the party condemned her actions as “unacceptable, divisive, and offensive,” urging immediate resolution. Zuma instructed his daughter to issue a public apology to Shivambu, MK party members, and the South African public, as well as to all structures she serves in, including the Southern Caucus of the Pan-African Parliament.

Failure to comply with Zuma’s directive would result in severe consequences, including her expulsion from the MK party and removal from all associated roles. The severity of this ultimatum highlights the seriousness of the situation within the party and the potential repercussions for Zuma-Sambudla’s political career.

Despite the pressure, Zuma-Sambudla has expressed defiance on social media, declaring that she expects to be expelled but is at peace with the outcome. Her post on X, stating “Floyd is useless!” further emphasizes the personal nature of the conflict, leaving many to wonder about the future of this ongoing political drama.
