In a stunning turn of events, Sibongile Dlamini, the wife of murdered Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department officer Banele Skosana, has denied any involvement in his killing, instead suggesting that foreign spaza shop owners might be responsible. Dlamini made the claims during her bail application at the Springs Magistrate’s Court, alleging that the hit could have been orchestrated by foreign national spaza shop owners who were recently evicted from their business premises in Kwa-Thema ΒΉ.

Dlamini’s statement, read by her legal representative Ephraim Thalane, claimed that she was at the mall attending to a stock delivery when her husband was shot and killed at their spaza shop. She also alleged that officers humiliated and stripped her during a four-hour ordeal, forcing her to wear a nappy and attempting to suffocate her with an evidence bag. However, her claims of innocence are contradicted by Skosana’s sister, Sindi, who revealed that her brother had reported incidents of verbal and physical abuse at the hands of Dlamini ΒΉ.

The case has taken a complicated turn, with the alleged hitman, Nhliziyozabantu Makwanyana, abandoning his bail application. Dlamini and Makwanyana are charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder, with the matter postponed to March 4. As the investigation unfolds, the motives behind Skosana’s murder remain unclear, leaving many questions unanswered ΒΉ
