Pretoria Commuters Turn the Tables on Taxi Robber
Pretoria – A suspected thief learned the hard way what happens when the community takes justice into its own hands, after an attempted robbery aboard a local minibus taxi ended in his dramatic capture.
According to eyewitnesses, the man and two accomplices boarded the taxi posing as ordinary passengers, only to allegedly attempt to rob fellow commuters mid-journey. Their plan, however, quickly unraveled when vigilant passengers raised the alarm and fought back.
Accomplices Flee, One Left Behind
While two of the would-be robbers managed to escape, the third suspect wasn’t so lucky. He was caught and “addressed” by angry commuters before being handed over to local authorities.
Cellphone footage circulating on social media shows the suspect being restrained and surrounded by a furious crowd — a common scene in South Africa’s rising tide of public frustration with petty crime.
