The Seshego Magistrates Court heard a deeply emotional case today, June 30, 2025, as Lesiba David Ledwaba, 40, appeared in connection with the death of his 87-year-old mother, Raesibe Ledwaba.
Raesibe was reported missing on June 28, prompting a police search that led to a tragic discovery at the family home in Sebora village, Ga-Mashashane. She had last been seen on June 26.
Police confirmed the discovery of her remains and arrested her son shortly afterward. The court indicated that additional charges could be added as investigations continue.
The case has been postponed to July 9, 2025, for a formal bail application, with Ledwaba remaining in custody.
Outside court, family members shared their heartbreak. Ramokone Mothapo, Raesibe’s niece, described her as a warm and caring woman, calling for accountability and justice through the legal system.
The community remains stunned by the incident, with many expressing support for the grieving family and hope for a thorough investigation and fair outcome.
