SASSA warns public of fake COVID-19 SRD grant application sites

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has issued a warning to the public about fake websites and links for COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant applications. These fake sites, including (link unavailable) and (link unavailable), are designed to steal personal information from applicants for the R370 grant.

The correct and authentic application platform for all applications is (link unavailable) SASSA has advised applicants to be cautious and only use the official website to apply for the grant. In related news, the deadline for recipients to switch from their gold SASSA cards to the black Postbank cards has been extended to 20 March 2025.
