The South African Police Service (SAPS) has issued a stern warning after a foreign national woman, identifying herself as Khosi Thomson on Facebook, was found impersonating a police officer.

SAPS revealed that Thomson posted several photos of herself wearing outfits resembling police uniforms, falsely claiming affiliation with the Johannesburg Central Police Station. Authorities clarified that Thomson is not a member of SAPS and the clothing displayed in the images is not official police-issued gear.

After SAPS social media officials contacted her to stop the illegal impersonation, Thomson reportedly locked her Facebook profile. An investigation is ongoing, with SAPS Crime Intelligence actively tracking her location.

The public is reminded that impersonating a police officer or using official SAPS uniforms and insignia without authorization is a criminal offense punishable under South African law. SAPS urges anyone with information about similar activities to report them immediately.
