The minister has officially opened a criminal case against Malaka, the CEO of the Independent Development Trust (IDT), along with her spokesperson—who is already suspended due to involvement in a separate tender corruption scandal.
Caught on camera, Malaka and Phasha Makgolane attempted to bribe investigative journalist Pieter-Louis Myburgh, known for exposing alleged corruption within the IDT. The IDT plays a crucial role as the government’s agency responsible for implementing infrastructure projects for social services.
