The police in the Western Cape are reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying the families of two men who have passed away in separate incidents. The bodies of these unidentified individuals are currently at local mortuaries, and authorities are hoping that someone might recognize them or come forward with information.

One of the men died on February 17, 2025, around 2:30 p.m. when he was brought into the Heideveld emergency unit by alleged family members. Tragically, the man was already deceased by the time they arrived. The deceased was found wearing a Nike T-shirt, blue denim jeans, and orange running shoes. Following his arrival at the emergency unit, the body was transported to the Salt River Pathology Services for a full autopsy, which will determine the cause of death.

The second incident dates back to July 4, 2024, when a man in his 30s was struck by a MyCiTi bus on Dassenberg Drive in Atlantis at around 9:30 p.m. The man succumbed to his injuries at the scene, and his body was later moved to the Observatory mortuary. At the time of the accident, the man was wearing a red hoodie, blue jeans, and black running shoes. Despite efforts to identify him, no reports of missing persons matching his description have been filed.

Police are urging anyone who may have a missing loved one or who can help identify these individuals to come forward. Detective Warrant Officer Rogers from Manenberg SAPS can be reached at 021 699 9400, and Detective Sergeant Antonio Langeveldt from Atlantis SAPS is available at 082 305 3582. The police are hoping the community can assist in bringing closure to the families of these men.
