Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader Gayton McKenzie has broken his silence on the swirling controversy surrounding Kenny Kunene, revealing what the party’s Deputy President told him about his unexpected presence at the home of a suspect linked to the murder of DJ Sumbody.
In a candid disclosure, McKenzie stated that Kunene insisted he had no knowledge that the individual he visited was connected to the high-profile case. “He told me he didn’t know the man was a suspect in the murder of DJ Sumbody,” McKenzie explained, adding that Kunene claimed the visit was unrelated and purely coincidental.
Kunene, who has been suspended from all party activities, has been under intense public scrutiny since news broke that he was found at the residence of a man now tied to the murder of the beloved musician and entrepreneur, DJ Sumbody. The visit immediately raised alarms within the PA’s leadership and led to swift internal action.
McKenzie emphasized that while he personally had no evidence linking Kunene to the crime or suggesting criminal intent, the political damage and reputational risk were too serious to ignore. “Perception matters in politics,” McKenzie noted. “When leaders are seen in compromising situations, it affects all of us.
