A violent altercation between two men in a Limpopo village has tragically ended in death, with a 66-year-old man losing his life and a 39-year-old suspect now facing a murder charge.
The incident unfolded on Friday, February 7, in the Ga-Ramauba village. According to Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the dispute erupted in a residential area, escalating quickly between the two men. The suspect allegedly struck the older man with an iron rod, causing fatal injuries.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found the victim lying on the floor of the shack, suffering from a head injury and a broken leg. Despite the swift arrival of emergency medical teams, the victim was declared dead at the scene.
The suspect, who also sustained injuries during the altercation, was promptly arrested and transported to the hospital for treatment. He will appear in the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 10, where he will face charges of murder.
The police are continuing to investigate the details surrounding the conflict, working to uncover the underlying reasons for the fatal confrontation.
