Limpopo police have arrested two suspects, aged 30 and 25, for possession and selling nyaope, crystal-meth, and rock cocaine to University of Limpopo (UL) students at Gate 2 on Sunday.
Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the arrests followed an intelligence-driven investigation. βLeads were thoroughly followed, which led to the arrest of the suspects at separate locations in Mankweng, Majebas Kraal,β Ledwaba stated.
The 30-year-old suspect was found in possession of 50 sachets, while the 25-year-old man was caught with 550 sachets of nyaope, 30 sachets of crystal-meth, and 35 pieces of rock cocaine. βThe total value of all the drugs was estimated at R31,250,β Ledwaba added.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, Mahwelereng police in Mokopane arrested a 41-year-old woman on Saturday, January 1, 2025, at Ga-Molekane Village. Upon searching the suspect’s premises, police recovered six sachets of crystal-meth and 65 sachets of dagga. Later, a 62-year-old woman was arrested in Armoed Village, where police recovered 245 sachets of dagga and about 5kg of dagga inside a plastic bag.
All suspects are expected to appear in local magistrate’s courts soon, and investigations are ongoing.
