The Hawks in Port Shepstone are appealing to the public for assistance in locating two individuals—Sanele Mthembu and Xolani Ngobese (also known as Ndlovu)—in connection with the ongoing investigation into the murder of Sergeant Ntombi Mbanjwa.

Mbanjwa, a dedicated officer with the South African Police Service, was tragically shot and killed at her home in Umzimkhulu on April 11, 2024. Her death has left the local community in shock, and authorities are intensifying efforts to uncover the full circumstances surrounding her killing.
Two suspects, Sergeant Ntokozo Mngqithi and Bhungane Hadebe, have already been arrested and are in custody in relation to the crime. However, the Hawks believe that Mthembu and Ngobese/Ndlovu may have crucial information that could aid the investigation.
Mthembu was last seen in Dambuza, Pietermaritzburg, while Ngobese/Ndlovu was reportedly seen in Edendale. Authorities have urged anyone with information about their whereabouts to come forward.
Warrant Officer Sipho Mnguni of the Hawks has made a public appeal for help, urging members of the public to contact him directly at 082 556 9559 if they have any information that could assist in locating the suspects.
