The bones have spoken, and many point to a grim prediction for 2025.

In a relentless pursuit of fame, some celebrities have reportedly turned to ukuthwalaβ€”a controversial practice involving sacrifices or rituals to gain wealth and success. Traditional healers warn that this growing trend is leading to devastating consequences.

According to izangoma, the entertainment industry is set to experience a challenging year. Sangoma Solly Mathebula, widely known as Gogo Mahlasela from Mamelodi, Tshwane, foresees a somber start to 2025.

β€œI see a male kwaito legend passing away, marking the beginning of the year. More celebrity deaths will follow, primarily because many resort to ukuthwala but fail to adhere to the proper rituals, leading to tragic outcomes,” said Gogo Mahlasela.

He also predicts the loss of an amapiano artist, citing immense pressure to maintain lavish lifestyles as a driving force behind their decisions to engage in ukuthwala.

β€œThere’s too much pressure on them. When they can’t sustain their lifestyle, they turn to thwala,” he explained.

Gogo Mahlasela further foresees turbulence in the entertainment industry, with conflicts escalating into legal battles over song ownership and acts of betrayal.

β€œThey’ll drag each other to court over songs while backstabbing one another,” he added.

Despite these ominous warnings, Gogo Mahlasela believes 2025 holds some positivity for South Africa, hinting at a brighter outlook for the nation as a whole.
