KwaMashu, South Africa β€” In a powerful show of unity and compassion, South Africans are rallying behind Fezile Ngubane, a 40-year-old car washer from KwaMashu, after he was wrongfully implicated in the murder investigation of Olorato Mongaleβ€”a case that made national headlines.

Ngubane was officially cleared by the South African Police Service (SAPS) on May 31, revealing he had been the victim of identity theft. The true suspect, Philangenkosi Makhanya, is alleged to have used Ngubane’s ID to carry out criminal activities, throwing Ngubane’s life into chaos and public scrutiny.

A Man Seeking Redemption

Ngubane, who openly battles drug addiction while raising a 17-year-old son in matric, shared a sincere and emotional plea to start over:

β€œI want to be clean and start over. Any support that helps me get there means everything to me.”

His vulnerability has struck a deep chord with South Africans across the country.

Social Media Sparks a Movement

Following the announcement of his innocence, social media platforms ignited with calls for supportβ€”not just for justice, but for a chance at healing and hope.

People from all backgrounds have begun pledging donations, calling for verified crowdfunding initiatives to help Ngubane access rehabilitation services, secure housing, and support his son through school.

One community member reportedly donated R5,000, while others continue urging for transparent and accountable donation platforms to be put in place.

Support from the Mongale Family

In a remarkable gesture of solidarity, Criselda Kananda, spokesperson for the Mongale family, publicly expressed support for Ngubane:
