Former top Transnet executives Siyabonga Gama, Brian Molefe, Anoj Singh, and Thamsanqa Jiyana appeared before the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court, facing serious charges of fraud, corruption, and breaches of the Companies Act.

The case revolves around a R93 million tender linked to the 2015 procurement of 1,064 locomotives, part of a controversial R54 billion contract that has long been tainted by allegations of irregularity and corruption involving the Gupta family network.

The charges form part of broader efforts to hold high-ranking officials accountable for alleged State Capture-era misconduct at state-owned enterprises. The court proceedings are ongoing.
