Authorities in the Eastern Cape have initiated an urgent manhunt following a brutal attack on a 75-year-old woman in her Mdletyeni home. The incident, described by police as particularly heinous, occurred on the night of Friday, January 31, leaving the community in shock and fear.
According to reports, an unidentified suspect, masked with a balaclava, forcefully entered the elderly woman’s home around 9 p.m. while she was asleep. Police spokesperson Captain Namhla Mdleleni provided details of the incident, stating, “It is alleged the victim was asleep in her home when an unidentified individual, reportedly concealing his identity with a balaclava, forcefully entered the property. The suspect committed the acts of sexual violence against the elderly woman before proceeding to rob her.”
