Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, the daughter of former President Jacob Zuma and leader of the MK Party, has sparked backlash online following her controversial social media posts aimed at MK Party Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu. On Tuesday morning, Zuma-Sambudla lashed out at Shivambu, accusing him of being “the worst thing that has happened to the MK Party” and ending her tirade with a profanity-laced “f**k you.” Her comments quickly stirred up a storm within the party and on social media, drawing criticism from MK Party members and the public alike.

However, the drama escalated when Zuma-Sambudla later issued an apology, which left many social media users unimpressed. Her apology, though presented as a gesture of reconciliation, conveniently omitted any mention of Shivambu by name. This omission, coupled with the fact that her original tweets were not deleted, led many to believe her apology was insincere.

Several users on X (formerly Twitter) were quick to point out the contradiction in her actions. @MechackBevhula expressed disbelief, saying, β€œYou apologise, but still on your timeline, you didn’t delete the tweets. Aii, this woman…” Other users, like @Mphoto_Agitator, joked that her apology was meaningless, with one comment stating: β€œF**k you, Floyd still standsπŸ˜‚.”

The growing discontent was further amplified by voices calling for more accountability. @GeorgeBeatsSA suggested that if Zuma-Sambudla was sincere, she should have deleted her original posts. @BhekzinMabele criticized her for not removing the offensive content, remarking that it wasn’t a real apology if she was still engaging with the controversial posts.

Some users, like @bxnzow, voiced frustration over the lack of a direct apology to Shivambu, questioning why the focus was on apologizing to her father and party leadership. They asked, “Where is an apology to FLOYD SHIVAMBU?” @Remiazania2 also pointed out the harm her actions had caused to the MK Party, especially at a critical time when the party was preparing for local government elections. They further stressed that the apology seemed hollow without a direct reconciliation with Shivambu and the deletion of the offending tweets.

Others criticized Zuma-Sambudla for undermining the MK Party, with @Ntombenhle124 calling her apology β€œrubbish.” The user accused her of disrespecting Shivambu and suggested that the MK Party’s future was in jeopardy due to her actions.

Zuma-Sambudla’s initial posts were not only damaging to Shivambu but also ignited internal conflict within the MK Party. Shivambu, who left the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in August 2024, has faced criticism from some party members regarding his leadership and changes to the party’s constitution. His fallout with Zuma-Sambudla, alongside ongoing internal divisions, has raised concerns about the party’s future direction.

As the saga unfolds, many are watching closely to see whether the dispute between the two leaders will escalate or if a genuine reconciliation will take place. The MK Party’s internal issues, combined with public tensions, have left social media buzzing with anticipation about the next developments in this family feud.
