Gauteng police have arrested four suspects and recovered stolen vehicles, drugs, and suspected stolen property during a coordinated two-day crime blitz across Johannesburg on 14 and 15 July 2025.

The crackdown began on Monday when PES FLEXI members, acting on a tip-off, raided a property at the corner of Northern Road and Karp Avenue in Nigel. There, officers discovered 24 boxes containing mag rims. The business owner was unable to produce proof of ownership and was arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

On Tuesday, the JHB Flying Squad was out in force. During patrols in the Moffatview area, officers spotted a recently robbed silver Toyota Yaris at the corner of Sheffield Street, The Hill. One suspect was arrested on the spot for possession of a robbed vehicle.

Later that afternoon, police recovered another suspected stolen vehicle β€” a silver Renault Kiger β€” also in Moffatview. The driver was arrested immediately at the scene.

The operation didn’t stop there. At around 17h00 in the Florida policing area, officers stopped and searched a suspect and discovered 165 zip-lock bags of dagga and one bag of cocaine. The individual was arrested and charged with drug possession.

The arrested suspects, aged between 20 and 43, are expected to appear in various magistrate courts soon as investigations continue. Police have praised the success of the joint operation and reiterated their commitment to tackling crime across the province.
