Lorato Junitor Motiki, a finance clerk at Lichtenburg Primary School in North West, has been arrested and charged with 436 counts of fraud and theft. According to the Hawks, Motiki allegedly made multiple transactions from the school’s bank account to her personal accounts, pretending they belonged to service providers.

The investigation revealed that Motiki defrauded the school of over R2.4 million between November 2019 and June 2023. She allegedly created fake forms to authorize payments for services that were never rendered to the school.

Motiki appeared in the Lichtenburg Magistrate’s Court and was released on R5,000 bail. Her case has been postponed to January 28, 2025, for her appearance before the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.
