Four former Transnet executivesβAnoj Singh, Brian Molefe, Siyabonga Gama, and Thamsanqa Jiyanaβhave been granted bail of R50,000 each following their arrests on serious fraud and corruption charges.
The case relates to multimillion-rand contracts awarded during their time at Transnet, the state-owned freight and logistics company, and forms part of broader investigations into state capture and financial misconduct.
Authorities allege irregularities and unlawful payments were made under their leadership, with the matter flagged in reports by the Zondo Commission and other forensic inquiries.
The case has been postponed for further investigation, and the accused are expected to reappear in court as scrutiny intensifies over public sector corruption and high-level accountability.
