Police Confirm Charges of Public Violence and Infrastructure Damage
MTHATHA, EASTERN CAPE β Police have confirmed the arrest of at least three students amid renewed protests in Mthatha on Wednesday. The students are expected to face charges of public violence, malicious damage to property, and destruction of state infrastructure.
The protest β reportedly linked to ongoing tensions at Walter Sisulu University (WSU) β saw a fresh wave of unrest sweep across parts of the city. Law enforcement responded after demonstrators blocked roads and allegedly damaged university and municipal property.

Eastern Cape police spokesperson confirmed:
βThree suspects were taken into custody this morning and will be charged accordingly. Lawlessness and destruction of infrastructure will not be tolerated.β
