The search for 12-year-old Simphiwe Knowledge Mkhize has entered its fourth day after he went missing on Friday, 16 May 2025, while heading to an outdoor toilet near his home in Mayville, KZN.
Simphiwe, a Grade 6 learner at Nsimbini Primary School in Cato Manor, was reportedly feeling unwell and had stayed home from school that day. Around 11:30 AM, he told his family he was going to use the toilet but hasn’t been seen since.

Despite a thorough search through the informal settlement along Nubian Road, there has been no sign of Simphiwe. His family and local authorities are growing increasingly worried for his safety.
He was last seen wearing:
- A navy long-sleeve shirt
- Grey shorts
- White sandals

A missing person case has been opened at the Cato Manor SAPS, with the case number 288/05/2025. Authorities have urged anyone with information about Simphiwe’s whereabouts to come forward.
